Ever thought of using your Roller Shutters for commercials?
In year 2011, someone came up with the suggestion of using roller shutters as commercial billboards. His intention was to help hawker stall owners defray rising rental costs after being exposed to news reports of soaring hawker stall rents. He had initially thought that by putting up these advertisement spaces on stallholders’ roller shutters for sale, stallholders would be able to have an additional source of income.
In August 2011, his suggestion was submitted online via the Pro-Enterprise Panel via the Ministry of Trade and Industry Singapore (MTI). The National Environment Agency subsequently granted him the in-principle-approval in February 2012 to pilot a scheme at a food center with the help of Pro-Enterprise Panel.
The pilot lasted 3 months but it was rumored that there were no advertisers keen to take up the advertisement spaces.
