Avoid allowing your roller shutters to slam
Employees tend to have a habit of allowing their roller shutters to slam upwards or downwards before the shutters reach its full height. It is not advisable to do so as doing this will affect the lifespan of the shutters negatively or damage the roller shutters in the long run.
Lift your shutters upwards in a controlled manner up to its full height using your hands or a manual pull handle to prevent damage. When lowering your shutters, you should also allow it to descend in a controlled manner without allowing it to slam towards the ground.
Do not raise and lower your roller shutters consecutively
For motorised or sometimes called electric roller shutters, you should avoid opening and closing your shutters repeatedly in a short amount of time as this will result in overheating of the motor.
Frequent usage of the shutters on a daily basis is perfectly fine but you should not do it consecutively in a short period of time.
Ensure your roller shutters locks are unlocked before lifting
Release all locking mechanisms before lifting your manual roller shutters. At times, people tend to forget and try to raise their manual roller shutters before unlocking all the locks.
You should not attempt to repair on your own especially if you are not familiar
Avoid attempting to repair the roller shutters on your own if you are unfamiliar as this may result in your company incurring more unnecessary repair cost when things get worse.
Avoid Taking Measurements on your own
It is advisable to get a roller shutter specialist to take the exact measurements of your shutters before making an order as you may be ordering an incorrect size especially if you are not familiar with how shutters work.
